Æsa Sigurjónsdóttir
Æsa Sigurjónsdóttir er prófessor í listfræði við Háskóla Íslands. Samhliða kennslu og rannsóknum er Æsa formaður stjórnar Listasafns Háskóla Íslands og á sæti í stjórn Myndlistarráðs. Þá hefur hún setið í stjórn NORDIK, samtaka norrænna listfræðinga. Eftir hana liggur fjöldi ritverka, þar á meðal bækur, fræðigreinar, bókakaflar og listgagnrýni, auk þess sem hún hefur ritstýrt fræðiritum. Rannsóknaráherslur hennar lúta að sjálfsmyndarsmíði, módernisma, femínisma, og samtímalist. Jafnframt hefur hún rannsakað ljósmyndasögu og ljósmyndafræði. Einnig hefur hún stýrt fjölda sýninga bæði hérlendis og erlendis.
Æsa Sigurjónsdóttir is a professor of art history and art theory at the University of Iceland. She is chairman of the board of the University of Iceland Art Collection and a member of the board of the Visual Arts Council, Iceland. She has also served on the board of NORDIK, the association of Nordic art historians. Author of numerous publications, including books, academic articles, book chapters, and art criticism, as well as editing academic publications. Her research focuses on identity construction, modernism, feminism, and contemporary art. Her curatorial work spans collaboration with a number of artists both in Iceland and abroad.
