Elísabet V. Ingvarsdóttir
Elísabet V. Ingvarsdóttir (f. 1956) er hönnunarsagnfræðingur, hönnuður og kennari. Að loknu hönnunarnámi starfaði Elísabet sem hönnuður en sneri sér síðan alfarið að fræðasviði hönnunar og kennslu sem hefur verið hennar aðalstarf auk sýningarstjórnunar, rannsókna og miðlunar á sviðinu. Elísabet hefur stýrt fjölmörgum hönnunarsýningum og sett upp hérlendis og erlendis í söfnum og í annars konar rýmum. Hún hefur verið virkur þátttakandi í hönnunarumfjöllun, sinnt ritun, hönnunargagnrýni, nefnda- og stjórnarsetu og unnið margskonar verkefni á sviði hönnunarfræða. Elísabet kenndi í fjölmörg ár við hönnunarbraut Tækniskólans og var þar brautarstjóri um tíma. Auk þess hefur hún kennt við Kennarháskóla Íslands, Myndlistaskólann í Reykjavík og verið stundakennari við Listaháskóla Íslands frá stofnun hans. Elísabet er með BA gráðu í hönnun og MA gráðu í hönnunarsagnfræði frá breskum háskólum og með kennslufræði frá Háskóla Íslands.
Elísabet V. Ingvarsdóttir (b. 1956) is a design historian, designer and a teacher. After completing her design education Elísabet practised as a designer for a period of time before shifting her focus towards design theory and research; with teaching as her primary role alongside of curation, research and knowledge sharing on the subject of design. Elísabet has curated numerous design exhibitions in Iceland and abroad in museums and other venues. She has been an active member of Icelandic design discourse, writing articles, reviews on design, as well as being on committees and boards and working various projects in the field of design history. Elísabet taught for many years at the design department at the Reykjavík Technical College including the role as the head of the department. Additionally, she has taught at the Iceland University of Education, the Reykjavik School of Visual Arts and is a part-time teacher at the Iceland University of the Arts. Elísabet has a BA in design and an MA in design history from British universities and a degree in education and pedagogy from the University of Iceland.
