Heiða Björk Árnadóttir
Heiða Björk Árnadóttir (f. 1985) er aðjúnkt í listfræði og stundakennari í safnafræði við Háskóla Íslands. Hún hefur sinnt leiðbeiningu nemenda við myndlistardeild Listaháskóla Íslands við gerð lokaverkefna og setið í stjórn Listfræðafélagsins, NORDIK – samtaka listfræðinga á Norðurlöndum og samstarfsnefnd Háskóla Íslands og Þjóðminjasafns Íslands. Samhliða kennslu hefur hún sinnt rannsóknum og skrifum á sviði listfræða og safnafræða. Rannsóknir hennar hafa beinst að sögu listasafna og listamannarekinna rýma á Íslandi, söfnun listasafna á verkum kvenna, þróun samtímalistar á Íslandi og hlutverki og stöðu nærskynfæranna innan myndlistar og fagurfræða. Heiða hefur doktorspróf í listfræði frá the University of British Columbia í Vancouver (CA) og meistarapróf í safnafræði frá Háskóla Íslands.
Heiða Björk Árnadóttir (b. 1985) is an adjunct lecturer in art history and sessional lecturer in museum studies at the University of Iceland. She has been a thesis advisor for students in the department of fine arts at the Iceland Academy of Arts and sat on the boards of The Association of Art Historians and Theorists in Iceland, NORDIK – The Nordic Association for Art Historians, and the University of Iceland and the National Museum of Iceland’s collaborative committee. Alongside teaching she has carried out research in the fields of art history and museology. Her research has focused on the history of art museums and artist-run spaces in Iceland, museum collecting of women’s art, the development of contemporary art in Iceland and the role and status of the proximal senses in visual art and aesthetics. Heiða holds a PhD in Art History and Theory from the University of British Columbia (CA) and a MA in Museum Studies from the University of Iceland.
