Margrét Elísabet Ólafsdóttir
Margrét Elísabet Ólafsdóttir (f. 1965) er prófessor í fræðum myndlistar við myndlistardeild Listaháskóla Íslands og dósent í listkennslu við Háskólann á Akureyri. Margrét var áður stundakennari við Listháskólann og Háskóla Íslands. Hún hefur einnig sinnt listgagnrýni og sýningarstjórn og ritstýrt bókum um myndlist. Meðal birtinga eru bókarkaflar í The Routledge Companion in International Context, og Digital Dynamics in Nordic Contemporary Art. Margrét Elísabet stundar rannsóknir á íslenskri nútíma- og samtímalist með áherslu á raf- og stafræna miðla. Hún hefur lokið doktorsprófi í list- og fagurfræði frá Parísarháskóla I, Panthéon-Sorbonne. Margrét Elísabet var formaður Listfræðafélags Íslands frá 2020–2023 og hefur setið í Myndlistarráði fyrir hönd félagsins (2022–2025). Hún er stofnandi Lornu félags um rafrænar listir.
Margrét Elísabet Ólafsdóttir (b. 1965) is a Professor of Art Theory at the Department of Fine Art, Iceland University of the Arts, and an Associate Professor of Art Education at the University of Akureyri. She has previously taught as a part-time lecturer at both Iceland University of the Arts and the University of Iceland. In addition to her academic work, she has been active as an art critic and curator and has served as editor for several publications on visual art. Her scholarly work includes book chapters in The Routledge Companion in International Context and Digital Dynamics in Nordic Contemporary Art. Her research focuses on Icelandic modern and contemporary art, with particular emphasis on electronic and digital media. She holds a PhD in Art and Aesthetics from the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne. From 2020 to 2023, Margrét Elísabet served as Chair of the Icelandic Association of Art Historians and Theorists and has represented the association of the Visual Arts Council (2022–2025). She is also the founder of Lorna, the Icelandic Association for Electronic Arts.
