Ynda Eldborg
Dr. Ynda Eldborg (f. 1956), er sjálfstætt starfandi fræðikona og sýningastýri á sviði myndlistar. Hún/hán hefur stundað kennslu í listfræði og listasögu við Hákóla Íslands, Listaháskóla Íslands, Myndlistaskólann í Reykjavík og haldið opinbera fyrirlestra. Undanfarin ár hefur Ynda einbeitt sér að rannsóknum á myndlist hinsegin listafólks og hinsegin listasögu Íslands. Ynda hefur unnið að fjölda hinsegin sýninga, annast leiðsagnir og fræðslu um myndlist hinsegin listafólks auk þess að skrifa greinar um listir, menningu og listasöfn hérlendis og erlendis. Hún var forman Listfræðafélags Íslands auk þess að sitja í nefndum á sviði myndlistar. Einnig hefur Ynda stýrt og stjórnað sýningum í Gallerí Gesti–farandgalleríi, Gallerí ´78 og Nýlistasafninu auk þess að vera frumkvöðull að gerð Regnbogaþráðarins – hinsegin leiðsagnar um grunnsýningu Þjóðminjasafnsins, Þjóð verður til. Ynda hefur lokið BA prófi í sagnfræði, MA prófi í safnafræði og MA og doktorsprófum í listfræði.
Dr. Ynda Eldborg (f. 1956) is an independent researcher and curator of art. She/they has lectured on the history of art and art theory at the University of Iceland, The Iceland University of the Arts, The Reykjavík Art School as well as giving public lectures. Over the years Ynda has dedicated herself to researching the history of queer art and artists in Iceland. She has curated a vast number of queer exhibitions, given guided exhibition tours and been a vivid educator in the field of queer art studies. Additionally she has published articles on art, culture and art institutions both in Iceland and abroad. She chaired the Association of Art Historians and Theorists of Iceland and has held committee roles in the field of visual arts. In addition she has curated and managed exhibitions in Galley Guest–Touring Gallery, Gallery ‘78 and the Living Art Museum as well as initiating the creation of The Rainbow Thread – a queer guide through the exhibition Making of a Nation at the National Museum of Iceland. Ynda has acquired the following qualifications, BA in History, MA in Museum Studies and an MA and a PhD in History of Art.
